Sandy Hook Report to Make Dozens of Recommendations

The final report from the Sandy Hook Advisory Commission will include a recommendation to ban the sale and possession of guns that can fire more than 10 rounds without reloading.

The commission, created by Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy to recommend public safety changes in the wake of the 2012 Newtown school shooting, plans to have its report finalized next month.

It will include dozens of recommendations to improve law enforcement and emergency response; safe school design and operation; and mental health systems.

In its meeting Friday, the commission also decided to remove language from the report that would have acknowledged the importance of the Connecticut's gun manufacturing industry.

Commissioners also agreed to seek permission from families before using any photos of the 26 Sandy Hook victims in the report's dedication.
