School Guard Buys Teen's Underwear: Cops

A Stamford High School security guard has been arrested and suspended after allegations surfaced that he paid a 15-year-old girl for her underwear and had inappropriate physical contact with her.

The girl's guardian questioned her about having large amounts of cash, Stamford police told the Associated Press, and that’s when the allegations surfaced.

Then, Pasquale Mecca, 52, admitted he bought the girl's underwear, investigators said.

He was charged on Monday with misdemeanor sexual assault and felony risk of injury to a minor. He posted $25,000 bail. Each risk count carries up to 10 years in prison.

Mecca couldn't be reached Tuesday. There is no phone listing for him and it's not clear if he has a lawyer.

School officials say Mecca has been suspended from his job. He is not allowed on school property, the Stamford Advocate reports.
