Scratch Ticket Winner Threatens SK Grocery Store Employee in Bridgeport: Police

A man won a scratch ticket lottery but left the Bridgeport store where he bought it with an arrest Tuesday.

Police responded to reports of a disturbance at the SK Grocery Store on Fairfield Avenue at 525 p.m. and arrested Kahraman Asad, of Bridgeport, twice that evening on multiple charges including threatening.

Asad won $10 from a scratch ticket he purchased and wanted to cash in. But he grew angry and threw items off the counter when the cashier told him he would have to wait as he helped another customer at the lottery machine, police said. Police came and cited Asad with creating a public disturbance and told him not to come back to the store.

But police returned shortly after upon receiving reports that Asad returned and threatened the store employee.

Police found him on Harral Avenue later that evening and arrested him on charges of second-degree threatening and first-degree criminal trespass.

His bond was set at $500.
