Seafood Truck Engulfed in Flames Snarls Traffic

A truck carrying thousands of pounds of frozen seafood burst into flames on Interstate 91 on Tuesday morning and snarled traffic.

The truck, based out of Maryland, was hauling about 25,000 pounds seafood northbound on I-91 in Cromwell when the headlights went out and the truck caught on fire, state police said.

The driver, Randolph Hall, 51, of Baltimore, was able to get out of the truck before it was engulfed, police said.

No one was injured, police said, and the northbound lines reopened after about 45 minutes. However, it took several hours to clear the scene.
