2 Buses Collide on King Street in Greenwich

Ten people were taken to the hospital after two buses collided on King Street in Greenwich Tuesday.

Sacred Heart Greenwich said that one of their school buses was involved. The only person on the school's bus at the time was the driver.

Police said the second bus, a Countrywide Transportation bus, was transporting nine people, including seven adults with special needs.

The 10 adults were taken to the hospital. None of the injuries were life-threatening, police said. Police said Wednesday that everyone who was injured is reported to be in good to fair condition.

Investigators said it appears the buses were traveling in opposite directions when they collided. Both vehicles were severely damaged.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the crash should contact Sgt. Patrick Smyth of the Departments Traffic Section at 203-622-8015.
