Four people were taken to the hospital after what state police said was a serious crash on Interstate 84 west in East Hartford on Sunday morning.
State police said two vehicles were traveling on I-84 west near the entrance ramp at exit 56 shortly before 2 a.m.
Troopers said a Toyota Corolla was traveling in the right lane when it was struck behind by a Hyundai Santa Fe.
Investigators said the Hyundai then rolled over and landed on its roof in the left lane while the Toyota spun off the road and ended up in the shoulder of the highway.

The driver of the Toyota sustained serious injuries and two passengers in her vehicle had suspected minor injuries, according to state police. All three were transported to Hartford Hospital for treatment.
State police said the driver of the Hyundai was transported to St. Francis Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
The highway was closed for hours on Sunday morning, but has since fully reopened.
