A 50-year-old Torrington man was killed in a crash on Route 118 in Harwinton just after 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Police said Louis H. Auger lost control of his 2000 Chevy Corvette while going east on Litchfield Road and went over the center line.
The car flipped after hitting an embankment and Auger was thrown from his vehicle, according to state police, and paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
LifeStar responded to transport the passenger, Gina Nelson, 51, of Torrington, to Hartford Hospital. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
