A sewer main collapsed in Westport on Thursday morning and police said the process to repair it would be lengthy.
A sewer main collapsed on Post Road East around 9:45 a.m. and crews are repairing the broken pipe.
For the foreseeable future, only one eastbound and one westbound lane will be open and people travelling in that area should expect traffic delays.
Drivers are urged to use alternate routes: South Compo Road to Greens Farms Road to Hills Point Rd or the Sherwood Island Connector. Also, North Compo Road to Cross Highway to Roseville Rd can be used.
