Milford Police are searching for the daring thief who smashed open a jewelry case at Macy's Department store in the Westfield Mall on Monday night.
A man with a gun in the waistband of his pants stole several rings, police said, and the mall was put into lockdown for about an hour.
Detectives said the man was last seen running toward the parking lot in front of the Target store.
The suspect is described as 5-foot-10, average build with a mustache and beard wearing black thick rimmed glass. Witnesses reported seeing him wearing a black hat with a Harley Davidson logo.
Milford police were reviewing surveillance video shortly after the smash and grab.
