Snow Monster Finds Winter Weather Across the State

Long before the sun came up, Snow Monster hit the roads across the state.

As the snow changed to sleet and freezing rain and roads became treacherous for parts of Connecticut, Snow Monster traveled from Bristol to Tolland, Vernon, Manchester and all the way through New Haven County, where the ice was so thick that trees began to come down.

Snow Monster found this street on Edgehill Terrace in Hamden as one example of trees damaging power lines.

Peter Hodge of Wallingford told NBC Connecticut that he watched the storm coverage all morning long and decided to shovel early in order to avoid the slush freezing solid after a cold blast of air moved in.

“We got up early this morning, watched your coverage and figured move it now before the cold front comes in," he said.

Snow Monster has exclusive cameras and road temperature sensors that you will only find on NBC Connecticut as we track more winter storms as the winter continues.
