Snowy Mix in Overnight Forecast

Mixed precipitation overnight will likely affect your commute on Wednesday and could cause school delays.

The storm is moving up from the south and snow, sleet and rain will begin overspreading the state around midnight.

The precipitation will come down heavy at times, but most areas will see 1-to-2 inches of snow before a changeover to cold rain.

Hill towns will see as much as 2-to-5 inches, as the changeover will take longer in Litchfield, Northwestern  Hartford and northern Fairfield counties.

On Wednesday, there will be mixed precipitation, trending to rain, in most areas.

A mix can hang on in the hills near the Massachusetts border.
