A home at 139 River Trail in Southbury is in danger of collapsing because it was undermined by water, fire officials said on Thursday.
Flood waters washed away much of the foundation, the homeowner said
The house is near the Pomperaug River, which was already 6 feet about flood stage as of 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
"I don't know how I feel," Rachel Pederson said. "I don't know what happens next. I don't know if I want to move back in at this point."
Pederson said she has most of her possessions because she moved everything out of the house before Tropical Storm Irene and never moved it back in.
