If you're planning on swimming this weekend, Squantz Pond State Park in New Fairfield is no longer off limits.
The park was closed because of the presence of a blue-green algae, which can be harmful to people and dogs, but it will be open this weekend after the latest round of water samples.
The algae, also known as cyanobacteria, was previously detected during water sampling and can emit toxins that can make swimmers and animals sick, according to the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
All state park beaches will be open this weekend.
