Stafford Middle School Deemed Safe After Evacuation Due to Message on Wall

Stafford Middle School in Stafford has been evacuated as a precaution after a message was found written on a bathroom wall.

Students and staff were evacuated by bus to Stafford Elementary School as a precaution, Supt. Patricia Collin said in a statement posted on the board of education website.

State police determined with the help of dogs trained to detect the presence of explosives that the middle school is safe. Buses are transporting students and staff back to the middle school. 

Lunch will be provided for everyone. 

Stafford district leaders as parents and guardians to "discuss with their children the serious nature of this incident and encourage them to disclose any information, which may assist with the investigation, to administrators."

Collin thanked parents for their "patience and understanding."

The specific content of the note on the bathroom wall is unknown.
