State Offers $50,000 Reward to Help Solve Cold Case

Erika Cironi's body was found more than six years after she disappeared.

Connecticut is offering a reward of up to $50,000 to solve a cold case in Norwich.

Erika Cironi, 26, of Norwich, was last seen alive on Dec. 31, 2006. Her remains were found in the woods off Oxoboxo Dam Road in Montville in March 2012.

Gov. Dannel Malloy authorized the $50,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in connection with Cironi's death. The reward is the maximum allowed under Connecticut law.

The Southeastern Connecticut/New London County Cold Case Unit has been working on Cironi's case for several years. Her picture was even included in the fire deck of cold case playing cards that were distributed in prisons throughout the state. The Division of Criminal Justice created the card in the hopes that prisoners might recognize photos and provide investigators with information that might help solve the crimes.

Anyone with information on Cironi's death is asked to call Norwich Police at 860-886-5561.
