State Police Arrest Man on Domestic Violence Charges

A Bristol man faces domestic violence charges after state police said he assaulted a woman in a car.

Police said on Saturday around 5:30 p.m., a trooper noticed a car pulled over in the shoulder on Route 2 west near exit 8 in Glastonbury. When the trooper stopped to offer help, he found two people in the middle of a physical fight.

The trooper ordered a male passenger, later identified as Wilfredo Rodriguez, 39, out of the car.

According to police, the female driver was bleeding and had cuts on her hands, and a knife was found on scene.

Rodriguez was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and second-degree threatening. He was held on a $250,000 bond and is expected in court Monday.
