A Hebron man is accused of threatening a state marshal who was there to evict him on Monday morning, according to state police.

The marshal contacted state police after 63-year-old William Sabino refused to leave the property and made a threat, police said.

More than a dozen homes in the area were evacuated as a precaution, while others were told to remain inside during the incident.

According to police, the man has several weapons registered to him, but none of those weapons was believed to be involved in the incident.

Negotiators spoke with the suspect and he was taken into custody before noon.

Police said Sabino was charged with first-degree criminal trespass, breach of peace in the second degree and second-degree threatening.
