Strip Club Employee Sentenced in Arson Case

A former strip club employee who was accused of setting a fire that destroyed two businesses in a dispute over money has been sentenced to eight years in prison

Willow Martin, of Naugatuck, was sentenced Thursday in connection with a case of arson at MTM Masonry in Prospect in 2015. She and her then-boyfriend were accused of setting the fire that destroyed that company and extended to a Chinese restaurant on the morning of Sept. 15, 2015, according to police.

Police said Martin’s boyfriend told police Martin wanted to burn the business down because she was arguing with the owner's stepdaughter, a coworker, after lending her $1,200 for clothes while they were on vacation in Wildwood, New Jersey, in August 2015.

A potato stuffed into a vehicle's tailpipe helped lead police to Martin.

Martin's attorney said during her sentencing Thursday her client "will not be back here again."

Online court records say Martin was sentenced to eight years in jail and eight years of special parole.

Martin's former boyfriend is also facing charges in connection with the blaze.
