First Alert: Wind Chills Below 0 Sunday

The severe weather isn't over yet. 

A First Alert has been issued through Sunday for bitterly cold temperatures.

It was mostly sunny on Saturday morning but bitterly cold with a high between 5 and 10 degrees and wind chills around -10F. 

A wind chill advisory will be in effect for southern Connecticut on Saturday, a wind chill watch will be in effect for northern Connecticut from on Saturday and a wind chill warning for Litchfield County will be in effect on Saturday and Sunday. 

By Saturday night, it will be even colder between -5 and -15F. Wind chills are expected to go as low as -25F. 

On Sunday, residents can expect a bitter start followed by a better afternoon with highs of 15 to 20F.

Snowfall totals reached around a foot for some parts of the state on Thursday and residents worked to dig themselves out on Friday morning. 

The cold snap will finally break on Monday, but will be mostly cloudy with a chance for some evening mix.
