Murder Suspect Found Dead in Fairfield After Search

James Taylor was facing murder charges in the death of his ex-wife Catherine Taylor.

A murder suspect has been found dead on the property of his Fairfield home after his GPS monitor stopped responding Tuesday, according to police.

Police said the incident began when they received a report that James Taylor's GPS monitoring device was not responding, and that he was not responding to calls from court.

Taylor was facing murder charges in the death of his ex-wife Catherine Taylor, who police say he shot after forcing his way into a home where she was staying in February. He was released on a $2 million bond and was wearing a GPS monitoring device.

On Tuesday officers responded to Taylor's Bronson Road home. Police believed he may have barricaded himself inside a shipping container on the property. Late Tuesday night police confirmed Taylor's body had been found.

It was not immediately clear how he died or exactly where his body was found. Police said the death may be a suicide, but the investigation is ongoing.

More information was not immediately available.
