A suspect in a Norwalk murder is on the loose and police as well as U.S. marshals are searching for him.

Vamond “Wooley King” Elmore, 37, is wanted for the murder of Jimmy Martinez, a 43-year-old father and grandfather, who was killed in the area of 18 Leonard Street just after 2 a.m. on May 15.

Police have a warrant charging Elmore with murder, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal use of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit and theft of a firearm.

The United State’s Marshal Service is also searching for him for a federal probation violation.

Police said last week that they do not know what led up to the shooting.

He is to be considered armed and dangerous and police warn people not to approach him. If you see him, call 911 along with the Norwalk Police Department.
