Suspected Accessory to Bouncer Murder Arrested

Police have arrested the guy they said who passed a gun to the man who killed a popular bouncer at a Waterbury bar last weekend.

Alan Nerbonne, 21, of Meriden was causing such a commotion in Swizzle Stix last weekend that Lawrence "Superman" Mates had to toss him from the drinking spot at least three times, according to court documents.

According to police, Nerbonne handed the gun to Andre West, 18, who said shot Mates in the head around 2 a.m.

Mates, 27, died at Saint Mary's Hospital.

Police have charged Nerbonne with a single count of aiding and abetting in Mates' murder.

They are still looking for West and have issued an arrest warrant charging him with murder.
