TD Bank Employee Accused of Stealing from Customers

Southington Police have arrested an employee of the TD Bank on Queen Street accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from bank accounts over a yearlong span. 

Amanda Callahan is accused of stealing more than $175,000 from accounts between April 19, 2011 and March 13.

A victim and TD Bank Corporate Security alerted police to the alleged thefts and investigators said they found 92 transactions in which Callahan allegedly withdrew money from the victim’s account and then transferred the money to other accounts or into cash.

On Oct. 5, police served Callahan with an arrest warrant and she turned herself in to Southington Police headquarters.

She was charged with larceny in the first degree, computer crime in the first degree and 92 counts of forgery in the second degree and arraigned at Bristol Superior Court, where bond was set at $100,000.
