Teen Charged in New Britain Shootings

New Britain police have arrested a 15-year-old boy in connection with an altercation that left two people suffering from gunshot wounds and one suffering from stab wounds.

Police responded to reports of shots fired on Clark Street at about 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday and found one victim suffering a serious, but non-life threatening injury. That person is being treated at a hospital. Another man was shot and one more was stabbed, police said. They were treated at hospitals

The teen, whose name was not released because of his age, was arrested early Wednesday in connection with the Tuesday night incident, police said.

He was charged with two counts of first-degree assault, unlawful discharge of a firearm, and first-degree reckless endangerment. He is being held at a juvenile detention center.

The investigation is continuing.
