A 19-year-old from Vernon is facing charges after sexually assaulting a girl he met at a party in November, according to police, who have arrested another teen and a 27-year-old who they say covered up evidence.
Police said Kyle Bjorklund met the teenage girl at a party and brought her back to his house in Vernon, where he sexually assaulted her. The victim, who police say is over the age of 16, went to the hospital for treatment after the assault.
Bjorklund was arrested Tuesday and charged with first-degree assault, first-degree unlawful restraint and second-degree false statement.
He was held on $75,000 bond and appeared in court Wednesday.
Police also arrested Lance Trovato, 27, of Rockville, and an underage girl who they say destroyed a piece of evidence linked to the case after they knew police were looking for it.
Trovato has been charged with destroying evidence, hindering prosecution and interfering with police. He was released after posting $5,000 bond and will appear in court Feb. 3.
The teenage girl was issued a juvenile summons, according to police.
