Teen Shot in New Haven, Police Investigate Possible Gang Connection

A 15-year-old boy was shot just before midnight on Monday in New Haven and police said they are investigating a possible gang rift as a motive.

Police responded to the Farnham Court Public Housing complex at Grand Avenue and Hamilton Street after receiving 911 calls reporting a shooting and found a 15-year-old boy who had been shot once as well as ballistic evidence.

The victim is on probation, was uncooperative with investigators and has refused to answer questions, police said.

Police are investigating a possible connection to a rift between rival gangs as a contributing factor in this case.

The victim has gone through surgery and is in stable condition.
