Thieves Steal From Fire Victims: Report

The family also lost four pets in the fire.

A family burned out of their Stratford home last week has been robbed of all they had left.

The Bowers family say two televisions, jewelry and video games were taken from their Soundview Avenue home, according to the Connecticut Post. The house had been boarded up since the April 3 fire. In all, the items are valued at $15,000, the paper reported.

88-year-old Gerald Bowers, his son and daughter-in-law lived in the two-family house until fire damaged it a week ago. The family also lost four pets in the fire, according to the Post.

Family members told the paper they had not removed the items from the house because they were waiting for an insurance adjuster to come look at the damage.
