Yale is tapping Hollywood's A-List for a speaker at the university's annual Class Day.

Actor Tom Hanks will address graduates May 22, the day before commencement. Yale traditionally has graduation speakers during Class Day and not at the actual graduation.

Hanks, a two time Oscar winner for "Philadelphia" and "Forrest Gump", has also starred in such hits as "Saving Private Ryan", "Apollo 13" and "Toy Story". He was invited by students to be the Class Day speaker and accepted, according to Yale spokesperson Tom Conroy.

Former President Bill Clinton was the speaker last year.
