Tucker West Already Getting Marriage Proposals

With the luge competition out of the way in Sochi, Ridgefield's Tucker West can now focus on his love life.

It has heated up a day after Tucker's dad went on the Today Show to talk up his son.

"I just want to say to all the young ladies out there: Tucker is very single!" Brett West told the Today Show on Sunday. He made his TV appearance as Tucker prepared to compete in the final runs of the men's Olympic individual luge in Sochi.

Tucker tweeted that he was "slightly mortified" by his father's segment on the Today Show, but he's not so embarrassed after receiving nearly two dozen marriage proposals.

"There's actually been quite a few, so I'll have my dad sort through those, but it's been good," a giggling Tucker told NBC Connecticut's Kevin Nathan on Monday.

The 18-year-old said he has also received numerous requests to be a prom date this spring. While he's excited about his new-found status as one of Sochi's most eligible bachelors, he doesn't see any Russian brides in his future.

"That's the plans. Try not to bring home any girls," Tucker said.

West finished 22nd in the luge competition, but said his Olympic experience, including the Opening Ceremony, has been one he will never forget.

"The night before, it was like Christmas Eve for me. I was just so excited to be a part of Team USA," he said.

The Sochi Games have been a dream come true for Brett West, as well.

"There is no pride like a parent seeing their child succeed, and Tucker, he hit this one out of the park, obviously," he said.

Though, he said his days of promoting his son's love life are over.

"I'm off social media for the rest of the week," Brett West said.

"He's on probation," Tucker added.
