Two pedestrians were struck by a car this evening on Fairfield Avenue near Clinton Avenue in Bridgeport, police said.
Police said the pedestrians, both women who appeared to be in their late teens or early 20s, are seriously injured. The women have not yet been identified.
They were crossing Fairfield Avenue when they were struck, according to police.
One woman was transported to Saint Vincent's Medical Center and the other was taken to Bridgeport Hospital, police said.
It's not clear whether or not the offending driver stayed at the scene.
Fairfield Avenue is closed between Clinton and Colorado avenues while police investigate.
