The robbery that prompted an campus-wide alert at UConn never happened, police said.
Police put an entire detective unit on the case and the school issued the alert after getting a report that a student was attached on Oct. 21 at 8:05 p.m., police said.
As police picked apart the case, they found discrepancies and the student admitted to making it up for personal reasons, police said Thursday afternoon.
Police are continuing to investigate.
