University of Connecticutannounced this week that students who graduate in either August or December will have to wait until the spring if they’d like to partake in any graduation ceremony.
“High costs and unpredictable weather” were the reasons the University gave as to why the winter commencement would cease to exist from this point-on.
UConn will join other local colleges such as Central Connecticut State University and Quinnipiac University in the "no winter commencement ceremony" club.
University of Hartford will continue to run their winter commencement ceremonies.
