Several schools sent students home early Friday, ahead of a messy commute Friday afternoon, with snow falling during the evening and going until around 10 p.m.
NBC Connecticut's team of meteorologists have issued a First Alert because of the timing of the snow.
The snow is expected to be light and fluffy, however, residents should expect issues on the roadways and drive with caution.
The state's shoreline will have the best chance for accumulating snow, up to 3 inches. Surface streets, parking lots, and driveways could see the most accumulation.
Temperatures are expected to be in the upper 20s and lower 30s.
