Union Rallies in Support of Wisconsin Workers

Hundreds of union workers in Connecticut are showing solidarity with their colleagues in Wisconsin.

Council 4 of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees is holding a rally at the state Capitol in Hartford on Wednesday and hundreds of people showed up.

Thousands of government workers in Wisconsin have been protesting the governor's plan to eliminate collective bargaining rights for unions.

The executive director of Council 4 for AFSCME in Connecticut said the rally will remind officials they need to create jobs with fair pay and not attack middle class working people.

As part of his budget, Gov. Dannel Malloy is asking state employees to give $2 billion in concessions and savings over two years.
