Man Impersonates Vernon Bank Customer and Steals $37,700: Police

Vernon Police are searching for a man who they said impersonated a People's Bank customer and withdrew $37,700 from the person's bank account.

The money was withdrawn on four separate occasions at the same bank branch in Stop and Shop, police said.

“The security of our customers’ accounts and information is a top priority, and we are working closely with local authorities to assist in their investigation,” People's United Bank said in a statement.

Anyone with information about who is in the photos police released is asked to call Detective Charles Hicking of the Vernon Police Department at 860-896-3768. Tips can remain anonymous.
