Victim Selling Electronic Device in Norwalk Assaulted and Robbed

A person who used social media to advertise the sale of an electronic device in Norwalk was robbed and assaulted. 

The victim had advertised some kind of electronic device through social media and arranged to meet a prospective buyer at Osborne Avenue and Goodrow Street in Norwalk around 8 p.m. on Monday, according to police. 

When the victim arrived, four men assaulted the victim and stole the electronic device, police said. 

As police investigate, they are also offering some tips to keep people safe when buying or selling online. 

  • Always meet in a public place, such as the public parking lot of the Norwalk Police Department. 
  • Tell someone 
  • Never meet at home 
  • Always meet during the day 
  • If it is a high-priced transaction, do it at the bank. 
  • Keep your cell phone close 
  • Never reveal personal information
