A water main break in Avon closed the westbound side of Route 44 Wednesday morning.
The road was closed in the westbound direction at Lawrence Avenue but has since reopened.
The water main break happened sometime before midnight and also caused problems near Avon High School.
Hollister Drive is closed nearby as part of a separate construction project.
