Talk about a utility bill. The City of Waterbury has sent the Pontelandolfo Club and its tenant, Villa Rosa Catering, a bill for $24,500.
It was for all the water and sewer used the banquet facility used while illegal bypassing around the water meter over the last six years, authorities tell the Waterbury Republican-American.
Club officers blamed Villa Rosa for meter tampering and have promised to pay the bill promptly.
City officials are more concerned about collecting the money than figuring out who to blame for bypassing the water meter, the newspaper reports.
