Waterbury police have arrested a man accused of hitting police officer with a car during a domestic dispute early Wednesday morning.
Police said around 2:35 a.m. police were called to the area of 100 Mark Lane for a domestic violence incident. When officers arrived a man, later identified as Jequan Love, tried to leave the area in a car and began driving recklessly. Officers ordered Love to stop, but the suspect kept driving and hit one of the officers, according to police.
Love then drove off and was later located at his home on Bateswood Avenue.
The officer was treated and released from Waterbury Hospital.
Love was charged with assault on a police officer, reckless endangerment, interfering with a police officer and evading responsibility. He is due in court Wednesday.
