Arrest Warrant for Wesleyan Shooting Suspect

The arrest warrant charging Stephen Morgan with first-degree murder details the steps police took and the clues that led them to believe he shot and killed 21-year-old Johanna Justin-Jinich.

It starts at 12:56 p.m. with three 911 calls reporting gunshots at Broad Street Books.

The warrant explains how the first officer to respond found the woman "moaning and shaking on the floor" and then heard from dispatchers that witnesses saw the "suspect had gone down a conveyor belt that leads into the basement."

The warrant goes on to explain how one of the officers spoke with people attempting to leave the building.  One individual gave the officer his name as Stephen Morgan with a Boulder, CO address.  Other eyewitness statements describe the shooting.

Detectives later explain how a police K-9 tracked a scent to follow part of the suspect's trail to find the gun police believe is involved; how they found the matching handgun ammunition in the car registered to Morgan; and the history police discovered between Morgan and Justin-Jinich.
