West Hartford Police Arrest Suspects in Attempted Break-In

A resident noticed the car and gave police a desription.

West Hartford police have arrested two people suspected of  trying to break into a car this morning.

Police responded to Thompson Road at 1:13 a.m. on Tuesday when a resident reported an attempted car break-in.

The resident told police a suspicious vehicle drove slowly on the street, stopped in front of the resident’s house and try to break into the car.

The resident was able to provide police with a partial Connecticut license plate and a description of the suspect. 

West Hartford police flooded the area and found the car matching the description at South Main and Burr streets around half a mile from Thomson Road.

David Decaprio, 36, of Middlefield, and Seejla Hodzic, 25, of the same address, were arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit burglary in the third degree, criminal attempt at burglary in the third degree, conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree and criminal attempt to commit larceny in the sixth degree.

Decaprio was also charged with one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Decaprio was held on a $25,000 bond and Hodzic was held on a $15,000.00 bond.

Police urge residents to lock their homes and vehicles when they are unattended, take your valuables out of vehicles and do not leave other valuables in plain sight while unattended.

They also ask residents to watch out for neighbor’s homes and vehicles when they are not around.
