Wife of Suspect in Doctor's Slaying “in Shock and Despair”

The wife of the unemployed Georgia doctor accused in the fatal shooting of a Yale University physician says she is "in shock and despair about this tragedy."

Lan Ma, wife of Lishan Wang, 44, released a statement on Wednesday expressing her condolences to the wife and child of Vajinder Toor, who was gunned down in front of his condo on Monday in Branford.

Ma released the statement through an Atlanta attorney and said she wants to protect her children and hopes that God can help "overcome this hardship."

She and her three children live in Marietta, which is just north of Atlanta.

Wang is being held on $2 million bail.

Wang and Toor worked together at a New York City hospital.

Police said they found documents on two other former colleagues of Wang's in his van, along with 1,000 rounds of ammunition.
