Willimantic Forum on Irene's Impact

Lawmakers will share comments with a state review panel.

Local towns are beginning to assess their response to Tropical Storm Irene.

In Willimantic, two local lawmakers are holding a forum where local residents and businesses can talk about how the storm impacted them and how utility companies can better respond in the future.

Rep. Susan Johnson (D-Windham) and Senate President Donald E. Williams Jr. (D-Brooklyn) will share comments from the forum with the state panel that is assessing the storm response.

The forum is scheduled for Thursday night, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., in the Windham Town Hall ballroom at 979 Main St.

Residents who cannot attend may contact Rep. Johnson directly through e-mail or call 1-800-842-8267.
