Willimantic Robbery Suspect Found Hiding in Trash Can

Willimantic police found a suspected robber hiding in a trash can early Thursday morning.

An employee at Dunkin' Donuts on Main Street called 911 around 3 a.m. to report that he had been robbed at gunpoint, according to police.

He told officers the woman then ran out of the store and jumped on the back of a bicycle, being operated by a man.

Police used a K-9 to help track down the suspects. They found the man, 53-year-old Daniel Henderson, in an alley and took him into custody. A fake gun was also found in the alley.

Officers found the woman, 25-year-old Kiara Wilson, about 30 minutes later. They say she was hiding in a large trash can.

Wilson is charged with first-degree robbery, sixth-degree larceny, breach of peace and threatening. She was held on $150,000 bond.

Henderson is charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and conspiracy to commit larceny. He was held on $100,000 bond.

Both suspects are schedule to be in court on Friday.
