Winter-Like Day Today, Coastal Storm Forming

The NBC Connecticut First Alert meteorologists expect another winter-like day today after the passage of a cold front early Saturday morning.

Nearly full sunshine on Saturday will be accompanied by a gusty breeze from the north.

Despite the sun, high temperatures will stay in the 30s with wind chills in the 20s at times.

Sunday will feature increasing clouds during the day as a coastal storm begins to organize and move north off of the Carolina coastline.

While the storm will pass well to the south and east, it will come close enough to bring us periods of rain Sunday night into Monday.

The rain could mix with sleet in the hills, especially at the onset.

The wind will increase out of the northeast through Sunday and Monday.

The prolonged period of northeast winds will enhance high tides along the shore with minor coastal flooding possible both Sunday and Monday.

A coastal flood advisory is posted for New Haven and points west.
