FIRST ALERT: Winter Weather Advisories Posted for Friday Morning With Slippery Conditions Possible

Our First Alert Weather team issued a First Alert for a brief period of icing Friday morning across northern Connecticut.

The largest impact will be from 4 to 7 a.m. when light freezing drizzle and freezing rain are possible in a few towns creating slippery conditions during the morning commute.

Winter Weather Advisories have been posted for northern CT ahead of Friday morning.

After 7 a.m. any icy spots should begin to melt as temperatures warm above 32 degrees.

Watch for some slippery spots on untreated surfaces such as decks, patios, and sidewalks prior to dawn.

Warmer air will filter into the state through the morning with afternoon high temperatures expected in the low to middle 50s.

Moderate to heavy rain will occur through the afternoon hours. Most towns will see around 1/2 inch of rain but a few towns in southern Connecticut could see over an inch.
