Wolcott police have filed charges against five juveniles accused of stealing a car and prompting a "soft lockdown" at Frisbie Elementary School this morning.
Police said five juveniles stole a Toyota in Waterbury this morning and a police officer spotted it on Wolcott Road.
The vehicle did not stop and the officer followed it to the BAW field on Nichols Road, police said.
When the driver realized the field was fenced in, he squeezed the car between a fence post and the cruiser, causing minor damage, but then stopped, police said.
All five people who were in the car got out an ran, according to police. Police caught three of them right away.
Two, however, remained on the loose, and police began searching the Woodtick Recreation Area, near the Frisbie School.
As a precaution, a soft lockdown was issued, meaning outdoor activities were canceled until the police apprehended the two remaining suspects.

Police also sent out an alert and someone called in a tip at 10:40 a.m. reporting two juveniles matching the suspects' description were sitting on the guardrails on Woodtick Road.
Police apprehended them and notified the school, which lifted the lockdown.
No weapons were found, police said. The juveniles were processed at Wolcott Police Headquarters.
