Woman Found Dead in Hamden Died of Drugs: Coroner

A 50-year-old Hamden woman found on a woodpile in a backyard in Hamden died of multiple drug toxicity.

Christine Pate, 50, of 451 Putnam Ave. in Hamden, was found on a woodpile at 388 Woodin St. around 4 p.m. on March 8 after police received a report of a deceased female in the backyard.

A Hamden Fire Department paramedic pronounced Pate dead around 4:15 p.m.

Police said her housing care manager had reported her missing earlier in the day and she had last been seen around Feb. 29.

Police received the autopsy report from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Farmington on June 12 and it determined that the cause of death was multiple drug toxicity, police said.
