Woman Killed Boyfriend With Car: Cops

Cherelle Baldwin is accused of crushing Jefferey Brown against a cinder-block wall.

Bridgeport police have charged a woman with intentionally killing the father of her child by pinning him to a cinder-block wall with her car.

Cherelle Baldwin, 21, of Ash Street, was arrested on Monday and charged with murder. She was arraigned on Tuesday and has not entered a plea

Baldwin is accused of driving her Pontiac at Jeffery Brown and crushing him against a wall last month. Police called the incident a domestic homicide.

Police and emergency crews responded to the scene on May 18 and found Brown between the car and the wall. They were not able to revive him, according to authorities.

Baldwin was found outside the car with an injury to her leg.

An accident reconstruction team determined Baldwin's car traveled about 100 feet and accelerated the entire time, before hitting Brown and the wall, police said. There was no indication that Baldwin attempted to brake. Investigators said Baldwin's leg injury was most likely caused by the impact with the wall while her foot was on the accelerator.

Baldwin is being held on $1 million bond and is due in court on July 16.
