A woman had to be rescued after falling in the water at a marina in New London early Thursday morning.
According to fire officials, the woman was trying to get on her boat, which was docked at the Thamesport Marina, when she slipped and fell into the water. Someone nearby heard the woman yelling for help and called police.
Emergency crews found the woman clinging to the boat, but she could not get herself out of the water. Police officers and firefighters worked together to pull the woman to safety.
She was in the water for about a half hour, according to fire officials.
The woman was taken to the hospital to be checked out, but appeared to be unharmed, fire officials said.
